Cutting across the Coast Range and
the Siskiyou National Forest, the Wild and Scenic Rogue River begins
near Crater Lake in the Cascade Mountains and flows to the Pacific
Ocean. Over 35 years ago, the Federal Government designated 44 miles of
the Rogue River as "Wild & Scenic" under the Wild and Scenic Rivers
Act of 1968. This action protected the river's pristine canyons by
limiting the number of visitors each season. The Wild Section of the
Rogue River is one of the most popular whitewater runs in the world and
has a loyal following. Its rapids are exciting but relatively safe, its
water is warm enough to swim in, the weather is usually warm to hot and
the scenery is breathtaking with dramatic canyons, lush, green forests
and crystal clear waterfalls.
Rogue River Raft Trips, Inc. was one
of the original rafting outfitters on the Rogue in 1968 and continues
to offer incredible river adventures. As a commercial outfitter on the
Rogue, we partner with the Bureau of Land Management and the U.S.
Forest Service in protecting this incredible natural resource.
We have a strong commitment to protect
this beautiful river. We take great strides to leave no trace of our
presence in the wilderness, on shore or water, ensuring that the areas
we visit remain a pristine home for the plants and animals who live
here. We actively work with conservation efforts to help maintain this
and other rivers. We support many environmental organizations
including: Oregon Water Trust, Friends of the River, and Northwest
Steelheaders.
