What should I pack for my trip?
Clothing and personal items should fit into a soft duffel type bag
about the size that would qualify for an airline carry-on. Please, no hard-sided
suitcases. We will provide you with an ammo-box to carry your daytime belongings such as:
sunscreen, film, camera, lip protection, paperback book, etc. Normally 2 people in
the same group would share one ammo-box. You can bring your own water proof day pack if
you wish.
Recommended Packing List:
Rogue River Raft Trips, Inc. will provide Farmer John wet suits and
splash jackets for all rafters, at no charge. As the weather gets warmer, wet suits may be
too warm to wear. You may want to bring a light weight rain suit for early mornings, it
can be cool.
Recommended
packing list for trips listed below.
Packing
List - 3-Day Lodge Trip
Pack all your
items in a small soft sided duffel bag. You will not have access to your duffel bag during
the day. We provide ammo boxes for day use to
store small items such as sunscreen, camera, film, etc.
Rafting clothes will get wet. Layer clothing over your swimsuit to
accommodate temperature changes from morning to afternoon.
You will have a place to store this clothing on the boat as you discard. Choose light weight materials that will dry
quickly. Cotton materials, such as jeans or
sweats, are poor choices as they take a long time to dry.
Synthetic materials such as nylon, dry quickly. If you are sensitive to the sun, we suggest a long
sleeve shirt and long pants (zip-off pants are great) of a light synthetic material such
as Supplex.

River Raft Trips, Inc. will provide Farmer John wet suits and splash jackets (pullovers)

If you have any
questions, please feel free to give us a call at 1-800-826-1963.
Do I need a dry bag?
No. Our baggage boat is equipped with a waterproof baggage compartment.
We will simply put your duffel bag into this compartment. You will not be able to access
your overnight duffel bag until you reach camp or lodge after the day of rafting. You will
get an ammo-box for your day items. You are welcome to bring a small dry bag for your day
items if you choose.
Should we tip our guides?
We feel that tips are a very personal choice and should reflect your
satisfaction of how you feel you were treated on the trip. Our guides work hard and are
very dedicated to making your trip very special. Most of our guests show their
appreciation by tipping the guide crew at the end of their trip. All tips are shared
equally among the guide staff. A typical tip usually ranges between 10% to 15% of trip
cost.
Will I fall out of the boat?
Falling out of the boat is not typical. It has happened over the years,
but usually the person was horsing around, water fighting and not listening to their
guide.
What if I can't swim?
We have taken many guests that couldn't swim. We use top state of the
art life jackets. And guides will be sure to instruct you to keep safe and in the boat.
For non-swimmers we recommend the oar boat option and you will be well taken care of
without having to take a stroke.
What is your policy on alcohol?
We do not provide alcoholic beverages on our trips. You are welcome to
bring your own. Beer and sodas (cans only) are limited because of space. Ice tea, lemonade
and water are available at every meal. If you would like to bring liquor, please pour it
in a plastic flask and pack it in with your duffel bag. You may purchase mixers at
Morrison's to take on the trip. Wine may be taken in glass bottles and will be packed
seperately. We ask all of our guests to be responsible with alcohol.
Do you offer discounts?
Yes. 10% off for 20 people and 5%off for 12-19 people. Reservations
must be direct in order to qualify for discounts, not through a travel agent.
What about special dietary requests?
We are happy to accommodate vegetarian and special diet needs. Just let
us know in advance, preferably when you make your reservation, and we will provide you
with meals just as delicious as anything else we serve. |
